<正> Magnetotactic bacteria have become a hot spot of research in microbiology and attract interest of multiple disciplinary researchers. However, the studies nave been limited with few fastidious bacteria. The objective of this research aims at isolating novel marine magnetic bacteria to improve our comprehension of the magnetotactic bacteria. In this study, an aerobic magnetotactic bacterium YSC-1 was isolated from sediments near cold mass of the Yellow Sea. In TEM, The magnetic cells were found to possess one or several magnetosomes that were circular in shape and were 100 nm in diameter. Energy dispersive X-ray spectrum of the magnetosome showed that the magnetosome consisted of two mineral elements Fe and Co. The biological characteristics of this bacterium were also described. Results showed Strain YSC-1 differs from microaerophile magnetotactic bacteria MS-1 and WD-1 in biological characteristics.
