Cloning of Three Candidate Genes Related with Coat Color of Giant panda,Ailuropoda melanoleuca

   IntroductionSharply contrasting black and white coloration makes Giant panda one of the most at- tractive animals in the world. What is the genetic basis of this coat color phenotype? In mammalian, Agouti, MC1R, and KIT were three important genetic loci controlling formation of coat color. In human, the KIT gene mutation resulted in piebaldism (Lutz B et alt 1991)> in horses, mutation in the Agouti associated with recessive black coat color (Stefan Rieder et al, 2001), the KIT gene was related to the roan color (S. Marklund et al, 1999); in pigs, The MC1R was associated with the formation of black color (J,M. H. Kijas et al. 1998, 2001), the KIT gene mutation lead to the dominant white coat color phenotype (M. Johansson Moller et al, 1996) . For this reason, we try to clone these three genes to construct a foundation for further research, and compare them with those of other mammalians for the basic phylogenetic analysis.……
