Preparation and Characterization of Iron-Platinum Magnetic Nanoparticles via a Microemulsion Technique

  A reverse micelle of water/cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB)/octane was developed to prepare iron-platinum(FePt) nanoparticles by coreduction of H_2PtCl_6 and FeSO_4 with sodium borohydride(NaBH_4).XRD,TEM,and magnetic measurement were utilized to characterize the nanoparticles.XRD only gived disordered face centered cubic(FCC) structure.TEM revealed the particles size of about 5 nm.Magnetic measurement showed that the particles were superparamagnetic at room temperature with no coercivity(Hc) and remanence(Mr).……
