小麦黄花病毒RNA1的自发缺失突变体对病毒致病性和真菌传播效率的影响

  A spontaneous deletion in one of the two RNA strands comprising the Wheat yellow mosaic virus (WYMV) genome was shown to occur in the twelfth passage of mechanical inoculation in wheat plants and exist stably in the inoculated plants until the 26th passage. Sequence analysis showed that a contiguous segment of 2 380 nucleotides was internally deleted from the genom-ic RNA1 and flanked by direct repeats of six nucleotides. When associated with WYMV, D-RNA1 ap-pears to increase manual inoculation efficiency, shorten infection period and exacerbate symptoms displayed in plants. Moreover, the D-RNA1 appears to participate in reducing the transmission efficiency of Polymyxa grami-nis, a fungus species that facilitates transmission of WYMV in the field. Results suggest that this D-RNA1 could be an interfering factor associated with virus replication, which affects not only WYMV pathogenicity but also transmission efficiency of P. graminis .……
