This paper starts with a brief summary of the benefit of using FRP(fibre reinforced polymer) to strengthen metallic structures subject to static.The influence of FRP on the factors affecting fatigue life is discussed.The bond between CFRP(cabon fibre reinforced polymer) and steel is affected by fatigue loading for normal modulus CFRP.The improvement in fatigue life due to FRP strengthening is summarised for various cases. Numerical simulation of CFRP repaired steel plates with initial cracks is described.Modified fracture mechanics approach is presented to predict the fatigue crack propagation in CFRP-steel composite system.A comprehensive list of references is provided.……
