Among all the factors that influence the individual learner s second language learning, motivation is definitely a critical one. It directly related to the learner s achievement in the target language. Many researches have been carried out to find out the relationship between learnersmotivation and their second language acquisition. It is crucial for language teachers to know exactly the motivation that their students have. To make clear the real situation of college studentsmotivation, here we choose two classes of college students for an example. Through questionnaires, we sort out the types of motivation that students have and get a brief impression about the effort that they have put on their English study. In accordance with the result of the questionnaire, the teacher can find out the problems existed in studentsEnglish study.
