无处不在的学习环境之下的适应性和个性化(英文)

  The exponential growth of handheld devices and wireless technology in recent years and increasing availability of high bandwidth network infrastructures,have opened up new accessibility opportunities for education.As a result,ubiquitous learning environments have started to emerge with potential to support life-long learning.These environments break the boundaries of the classroom and enable learning to take place in situated contexts where learners are able to relate with authentic scenarios in their own living and work environments,leading to better learning experience.This paper focuses on various contexts that arise in such environments where seamless immersion of formal and informal activities and interactions has potential to contribute to the learning process.With particular focus on adaptivity for individual learners,the paper explores the diminishing boundaries of formal and informal learning,and the potential of location-aware context-sensitive approaches that are emerging as successor of Web 2.0 paradigm. An infrastructure for such ubiquitous learning environments is proposed where learners learn outside the classroom in the real world.Such infrastructure,through underlying smart and intelligent data mining and visualization technologies,not only keeps track of overall learning process but also identifies problems as and when they are experienced by the learners,and enables teachers to intervene the pedagogical processes at both individual and group level,so as to optimize the learning experience for each learner.……
