Exergy Simulation of Methane Gas Combustion and Gasification

  Current energy evaluation focuses on the substitution of non renewable resources mainly fossil fuels but it lacks in justification that how efficient and sustainable the so-called renewable energy will be.Another gap is how much will it be more efficient by using renewable feedstock and renewable technology than using the traditional feedstock and traditional technology.This paper gives the thermodynamic analysis by using methane gas through combustion and gasification to find out the exergy balance under different temperature and pressure.In this way,a clearer mind of how much energy efficiency is by using gasification and combustion can be obtained.It is found that the higher temperature isobaricly the higher thermal efficiency and the higher pressure isothermally the higher thermal efficiency.It is also found that the exergy out of the gasification is higher than that in.This is mostly contributed to the formation of carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the gasification stream.……
